Morphogenesis & Active Matter

Morphogenesis is a fascinating process in which single cells transform into complex organisms via a tightly coordinated motion, growth and divisions (panel A). It is a key mechanism for early embryonic development, tumor growth, tissue regeneration and biomaterial design. Recent progress in live imaging and single-cell RNA sequencing (panel B) unlocked a complex set of previously unobservable phenomena, yet there are no effective tools to analyze and combine these high dimensional, multiscale and heterogeneous datasets.
